Background

James Edward Harden, Jr. was born on August 26, 1989. He currently plays for the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association(NBA). He appeared in the All-Star in 2013 for the first time. He played for the Arizona State Sun Devils in college and was drafted in 2009 by Oklahoma City Thunders.

Harden was traded to the Houston Rockets and performed extremely well. After his 6th game starting in three years, he was considered to be Rocket's featured player. On the 31st of October he signed an extension for 5 years $80 million dollars. On February 2nd of 2013, he achieved his first triple double with 21 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds. On the 20th of the same month, Harden scored 46 points that led the Rockets to a 122-119 win over the OKC Thunders, his old team.

During college, in 2009, Harden started to grow out his beard since he was too lazy to shave. Now, his beard is a symbol and is used in many songs and on T-shirts.

The have also won the conference title 4 times in 1981, 1986, 1994, and 1995.
